I’m going to be showing you how to install the Mihon app, which is basically the new Tachiyomi. It’s a rebranded version of Tachiyomi, developed by the same creators. As you know, Tachiyomi has been discontinued — there are no more updates due to some copyright issues, so they had to shut it down.
But this time, I’ll show you how to install the Mihon app (or Myon app) directly on your iPhone or any iOS device. Normally, it’s only available for Android, but in this tutorial, you’ll learn how to get it on iPhone as well.
What’s New in Mihon
I’ll run it so you can see that it works perfectly. The unique change is mostly in the colors — in dark mode, you’ll notice a purple color scheme, but overall, everything else remains exactly the same as Tachiyomi.
You can still install extensions, get your favorite mangas, and enjoy all the classic features. I’m currently running the latest version, which was released about ten days ago.
Preparing Your iPhone for Installation
In this video, you’ll learn how to install Mihon easily on any iOS device. Let’s start the tutorial!
Step 1: Open Settings
First, go to Settings on your iPhone.
Then, head to General → Background App Refresh.
Make sure Background App Refresh is set to Wi-Fi and Mobile Data.
Now, go back to the main settings screen.
Adjusting Safari Settings
Next, scroll down and find Safari.
Inside Safari settings, scroll down until you find the Privacy and Security section.
Here, make sure “Block All Cookies” is disabled — it should look like this 👇 (disabled).
Once you’ve checked that everything matches, you’re now ready to install Mihon (Myon) — the new manga reader that replaces Tachiyomi.
Installing Mihon via Safari Extension
We’re going to install Mihon using a Safari extension. As you might know, Safari now supports extensions that work just like normal apps.
So, we’ll install this extension directly on your iPhone, and it will function just like any app.
Step 2: Open Safari
Now that we’ve tweaked the necessary settings, open Safari and go to the website:
👉 aara.com
This is the official website where you can download the Mihon app.
On the site, you’ll find different apps for iOS and Android — including free and modded apps. The one you want to install is:
“Mihon – Get Myon for iOS and Android.”
Step-by-Step Installation
To install it, just tap once on the Mihon icon.
A popup will appear — tap again, and the installation will start automatically.
What it’s doing is creating a Safari extension, which installs directly to your home screen. All app files will be stored inside this extension, so you don’t need to download any files manually.
The process is fully automatic — you’ll see messages like “Injecting app…” and “Injection finished.”
Once completed, you’ll get a message that says:
“App Injected. Please check your device home screen.”
If this is your first time visiting the site, it might ask you to install one or two verification apps — this is just a bot prevention step. Simply follow the instructions, and once done, check your home screen.
You should now see the Mihon app installed — the official replacement for Tachiyomi.
Final Thoughts
And that’s it, guys! As you can see, it’s super easy to install and works perfectly on iOS.

Is Mihon the same as Tachiyomi and who maintains it now?
Mihon is a rebrand of Tachiyomi with the same core experience and feature set, maintained by the same creator community under a new name. The interface, extension system, library management, and reader options work the way Tachiyomi users expect, with a refreshed look that leans into a purple accent in dark mode.
Can I install Mihon on iOS without jailbreaking?
Yes, the method described here uses a Safari extension workflow so you do not need to jailbreak your iPhone. You adjust a few iOS settings, visit the install page in Safari, and let the extension inject the app to your home screen.
Why was Tachiyomi discontinued and does Mihon fix that?
Tachiyomi stopped receiving updates due to copyright-related pressure, which led to the project being shuttered under that name. Mihon continues the same open-source reader experience under a new brand, letting the community maintain updates without the legacy baggage attached to the old name.
Does Mihon on iOS support extensions like Android?
The experience is designed to mirror Tachiyomi’s extension-driven model so you can browse sources and read your favorite manga similarly to Android. After installing, you can explore extensions inside the app to access catalogs and features you’re used to.
What should I do if I don’t see the Mihon icon on my home screen after “Injection finished”?
If the message says the app was injected but no icon appears, reopen Safari and revisit the installer page, then complete any verification steps it requests. Also double-check Background App Refresh is enabled for Wi‑Fi and Mobile Data and that “Block All Cookies” is disabled in Safari settings, then try the install again.
Do I need to trust a developer profile in iOS settings for this install?
With the Safari extension approach, the app files are handled inside the extension, so you shouldn’t need to manually trust an enterprise profile in Settings. If any prompt requests that, review it carefully and proceed only if you recognize and expect it.
